Overview概要

Kagurazaka is a street layered with history — once a geisha district, a loading dock along the Sotobori waterway, and now a dense commercial area. Yet this history is hidden behind the "noren" of commerce: the shops, signage, and facades that have overtaken the street's original character.

神楽坂は、花街・荷揚場・外濠の水辺など多層的な歴史を持つ街である。しかしその本来の姿は、商業というのれんの裏に隠れてしまっている。

This proposal reimagines the approach from JR Iidabashi Station as a sequence of three "mitsuke" — threshold moments — each using the noren as an architectural device that peels back the commercial layer to reveal the layered history beneath.

本提案は、JR飯田橋駅からのアプローチを三つの「みつけ」として再編する。のれんという建築的操作によって商業の層を剥がし、その奥に眠る神楽坂の歴史的文脈を段階的に顕在化させる。

Three Gateways三つのみつけ

① Kaguramitsuke — At the main intersection, a street-level shared library and open plaza anchors the corner, creating the first threshold into Kagurazaka's world.

② Iidamitsuke — Along the Sotobori waterfront, a rest stop and rental cycle station activates the moat's edge, connecting the urban flow to the water below.

③ Kagura Library — Deeper in, a resource space woven with local archival material makes the layered history of the district physically accessible.

① かぐらみつけ — メイン交差点にストリートレベルのシェアライブラリーと広場を配置し、神楽坂世界への最初の入口をつくる。

② いいだみつけ — 外濠の水辺沿いに休憩所・レンタルサイクルを設け、都市の流れと水辺を繋ぐ。

③ かぐらいぶらりー — 奥に進むと、地域の記録資料を織り込んだ空間が現れ、この街の重層的な歴史に身体的に触れることができる。
